The Shimano XT FC-M8120 1 x 12-speed Boost crank with 178 mm Q-factor, 55 mm chainline and 148 mm O.L.D is synonymous with maximum drivetrain efficiency at a reduced weight. It delivers optimum power transfer and maximum speed for the new XT system, which uses only 1 chainring.

In addition to a new special 12-speed chain (CN-M8100) with the matching new 12-speed Quick Link, Shimano also equips the XT M8100 with new 12-speed chainrings and cranks (FC-M8100/8120/8130-1). Most of them use 1x systems and a wide range of chainrings is available (from 28T to 36T).

The new XT 1x12-speed cranks feature Dynamic Chain Engagement+ technology, whose special high-precision tooth profile ensures the chain finds optimum grip on the upper part of the chainring on rough terrain, yet releases from the chainring equally well at the bottom, thereby guaranteeing an efficient, smooth and quiet drivetrain. The cranks are fitted with a direct mount system for quick, secure chainring installation, allowing chainrings to be swapped in the blink of an eye. The cranks are available with and without a bash guard.
